The importance of CP/ pharmacists in the provision of quick/direct clinical care to patients and the general public is integral in our society. Certain minor illnesses can be easily resolved with OTC therapy without the need of any formal appointments. This saves time for both patients and G.P’s.
The partnership between True Shepherd and Community pharmacies provides an opportunity for CP to refer patients (for an affordable fee) who are in need of same -day appointment for illnesses which cannot be adequately managed with OTC therapy and are unable get an appointment with their G.P practice. CP also has the additional benefit of dispensing any prescribed medication directly to the referred patient.
